Equinox releases Control Room Operations Window version 4.1

Equinox Software Design Corporation is pleased to announce the release of Control Room Operations Window (CROW) version 4.1, which significantly extends the features and functionality for outage coordination and dispatcher logging processes in electric system operations. CROW 4.1 also incorporates an enhanced Enterprise Model and has expanded capabilities in Reporting, Notification, System Interfaces, User Options, and Administration.
Enhanced security and access features make CROW 4.1 an ideal operations and outage coordination tool for both vertically-integrated electric utilities and for those utilities who are segregating their transmission and generation lines of business. These built in security and access rules also make CROW 4.1 a powerful coordination tool for Independent System Operators, Regional Reliability Councils, and other organizations that interface with multiple electrical asset owners, operators, and maintainers.
The automated notification and reporting features in CROW 4.1 enable near-real-time notification of electric grid events and system disturbances. Instant notification and reporting can be set up to alert dispatchers, maintenance workers, management, major customers, interconnected utilities, and regulatory or reliability organizations via email, pager, or mobile phone.
CROW 4.1 is the result of seven years of design and development throughout which direct feedback from electric system operators was used by Equinox to drive the design objectives. This design strategy ensured that CROW 4.1 would represent a quantum leap toward a truly integrated process solution optimizing electric system control center operations and helping to ensure reliability of the electric grid through enhanced communications of significant electric system events.
