Midwest ISO Selects Equinox Software's Control Room Operations Window (CROW)
Vancouver, B.C. - December 4, 2008
Equinox Software Design Corporation is pleased to announce that its Control Room Operations Window (CROW) software has been selected by Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator, Inc. (Midwest ISO) for their Outage Scheduling system. The product will provide improved performance, integration, automation, coordination, notification, compliance and auditability for Midwest ISO's Outage Coordination processes.
Midwest ISO is a not-for-profit organization charged with operating and maintaining the reliable, efficient flow of electricity across all or part of 15 Midwestern states and the Canadian province of Manitoba. Based in Carmel, Indiana, Midwest ISO monitors the high-voltage electric transmission system between generating plants, wholesale power transmitters and wholesale customers.
"The Equinox CROW software system was selected to replace our outage scheduling system based on their knowledge of the electric utility industry, including Regional Transmission Organizations, staff flexibility, and product value." said Ron Arness, Midwest ISO's Senior Manager Outage Coordination.
Equinox's CROW software will provide Midwest ISO with improved coordination and management of planned electric system outages using a system that has proven it can stand up to the demands of utility operations and Control Centers that run 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
