How the Enterprise Model
is used:

Equinox Design Corporation uses the Enterprise Model to
completely model your business environment before any software code
is written. The elements of your business model (business objects and
their properties and relationships) can be rapidly drafted and re-drafted
as we analyze how your business is modeled and test how well the
model correlates to your business solution
requirements.

Once the prototype for your business model is finalized, Equinox
begins the software coding stage. Business rules and user
interfaces are developed over top of the Enterprise Model
database layer.

Your business model may also be pre-populated with the actual
"real-life" instances of the objects in your business model
(eg. actual customers, products, etc.) by importing or
converting existing databases.

This thorough conceptual modeling will help ensure that your
final application will have the desired functions and features
you intended to deliver to your user community. In addition,
your application will have the Enterprise Model

In addition to the administrative functions defined by your
business requirements, your system administrator and IT staff
will have access to additional features in the Enterprise Model
which comprises two modules: the Enterprise Model Tools and the
Information Model.

The Enterprise Model Tools include a hierarchical browser and
flexible query tool that allows your system administrator or
IT staff to manage the real-life data objects or instances
whether it be correcting erroneous entries, adding new data,
or using the powerful drag-and-drop capability to completely
reorganize data, reporting, or organizational
structures.

The Information Model is the unique and powerful metadata
modeling tool that allows the system administrator or IT
staff to edit and define the business model. It is a
drag-and-drop hierarchical browser that give the
administrator the power to define new classes of objects,
properties of those object classes, and their relationships.
It also allows you to define and edit aggregating hierarchical
relationships for the purposes of aggregating data for functions
such as reporting.

Both modules accelerate the time to adapt the application to
match new requirements and minimize the cost of internal or
external software development.
